A little Bob Dylan at le Sacre Coeur

video
I have a theory that when American students decide to study abroad, they often are compelled to do things that are a little bit crazy. This is probably the worst thing ever, considering they may be thousands of miles away from home in a place isn't just going to accept a phone call from mom to get them out of trouble.

This isn't one of those cases, but I still think it was a little out of the ordinary for me.

I have a mild case of stage fright, especially when it comes to playing my guitar. This is a video of me, my very talented friend Chris (of the band MAD NOISE--check them out, they're awesome), and our Parisian harmonica playing friend named Jo. We were busking on the side of a little cobblestone road in Montmartre that happened to be swarming with people.

The police came by while we were playing, and I got pretty nervous—I've heard horror stories of officers confiscating instruments and fining musicians for busking in Paris without a permit.

Mais non, they just smiled and clapped...
Jo told me he had never seen the police do that before.
