First Morning in St. Johann, Austria

Entries from my travellog #2:

October 31st
Oh hey, cool, it's Halloween.
Anyway...

Today, we saw St. Johann in daylight for the first time. We strolled along its narrow, steep roads, peaking in the windows of souvenir and ski shops as we went.

There was no cloud in the sky to hold in the sun's warmth, so the air was raw and crisp and froze my breath in faint wispy clouds.
The autumn sun stayed low all day, shining horizontally through the valley and over-exposing the landscape. I probably wont ever stop raving about the scenery. The ancient mountains looked jagged and dramatic, but were softened by a quilt made of leaves of burgundy, gold, and piney green, which faded into wide, grassy pastures dotted with cows and a few houses.

No architect could create a more breathtaking shape to scrape the sky.

We treked down the hill to the river and walked along a path by its side, just talking.

Another wonderful day! :)
